Baba ji was born to Pita Uttam Daus Ji and Mata Daya Kaur Ji in the village of Soos in 1839. He grew up with his brother and sister. Dera Dhan Dhan Baba Jawahar Dass J located in Soos, a village in Hoshiarpur district in the state of Punjab.
The Dera is approximately on 5.6 acres of which 0.9 acres of 16 Stairs around the is Sarovar consisting 16 stairs sarovar which was dug by Baba ji himself.
The dera has Baba Jawahar dass ji’s samadh, Pir Rurri Ji and babajis beloved devotee Bhai Labh dass ji’s and Bhai Shera Ji’s samadh. Baba ji is well known to do seva to all visitors by serving them Milk and Parshaade.
Babaji was not only available for service to the devotee’s but also to the general hard workers in farms. He preached to do seva and to only eat as needed. Babaji har blessed numerous devotees who will come to babaji for healing and guidance.
Vela Raam ji a devotee of Babaji’s has dedicated Nishan Sahib (approx 100 feet high) to the dera. Many devotees from all over the world visit the dera to attend the Nishan Sahib that is known to rise itself up without any support.
This ceremony is celebrated once a year on Sangrand of the month of Jeth [NanakShahi Calendar).
